Getting to and from the airport

Modlin is about 40 km north of Warsaw. Train, coach, car or taxi: all options take 45–55 minutes from the city centre.

Train

Train and shuttle bus: one ticket

Koleje Mazowieckie (KM) regional trains run from Warsaw to Modlin station. At the station a shuttle bus waits for each train and takes you to the terminal in about 8 minutes. The bus ride is included in the train ticket to "Modlin Airport"; just show the same ticket to the driver.

  • From: Warszawa Zachodnia, Warszawa Centralna, Warszawa Wschodnia and other stations on the Legionowo line (e.g. Warszawa Gdańska).
  • Journey time: about 50 minutes from Warszawa Centralna including the shuttle bus.
  • Frequency: roughly every hour, more often at peak times. The first train arrives at the airport before 05:00 and the last leaves after the last arrival.
  • Price: from PLN 19 one way (full fare). Reduced fares for children, students and seniors under Polish rules.
  • Tickets: KM ticket machines and app, the national "Koleo" app, ticket offices and from the conductor (small surcharge). Choose "Modlin Lotnisko" as the destination.

Trains and the shuttle bus are low-floor and wheelchair accessible. If you need assistance at the station, request it from Koleje Mazowieckie at least 48 hours ahead.

Tip

Allow 3 hours before departure

Take the train that arrives at the airport at least 2 hours 30 minutes before your flight, in case of delays. Then you still have time for security and a coffee.

Where to find the bus

At Modlin station the bus stops right by the platform exit. At the airport it stops in front of the terminal entrance, next to the coach stops.

Coach

Direct coaches from central Warsaw

Several operators run direct coaches between Warsaw and the terminal, timed to match flights. The journey takes about 55 minutes; a one-way ticket costs from about PLN 25 when bought online, a little more from the driver.

  • Stops in Warsaw: Warszawa Zachodnia coach station and the Palace of Culture and Science (Pałac Kultury i Nauki), near Warszawa Centralna.
  • At the airport: coach stops are directly in front of the terminal.
  • Luggage: one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage are included.
  • Accessibility: most coaches have a lift or ramp; please tell the operator when booking.

Night and early flights

Coaches run for every flight

Coaches from Warsaw depart about 3 hours before each departure and leave the airport about 30 minutes after each arrival, including at night when trains do not run.

If your flight is delayed, coaches wait for the arrival within reason. Check the operator's app for live departure times.

Car

By car via the S7 expressway

From Warsaw take the S7 expressway north towards Gdańsk. Leave at the Modlin exit and follow signs to the airport ("Lotnisko"). From the city centre the drive takes about 45 minutes outside rush hour.

Major rental companies have desks in the arrivals hall; cars are parked on site. Return keys to the desk or the drop box when the desk is closed.

Taxi

Taxi and ride-hailing

The taxi rank is right in front of the terminal exit. A ride to central Warsaw costs about PLN 150–200 depending on the time of day and traffic; ask for the fare before you set off or use a licensed app. Ride-hailing apps pick up from the same zone.

  • Pay by card or cash; receipts available.
  • Accessible vehicles for wheelchair users are available on request. Order at least a few hours ahead through the taxi operator or airport information, +48 22 315 18 80.
  • Child seats on request when booking.

Kiss & Fly

Being dropped off or picked up?

The Kiss & Fly lane in front of the terminal is free for the first 15 minutes. For longer waits use car park P1, two minutes from the arrivals hall.
